A Second Tooth

I know the suspense is killing you...is it a second tooth for Nicole or a first tooth for Kaitlyn??? Well....it's a first tooth for Kaitlyn!!! Yeah! Since Nicole got a tooth, I've been rubbing my finger over both of their gums every day to see if I can feel anything. Well, finally today!!!

That's all for now. I definitely have some pictures to come, as we took our first bath in a big girl tub together earlier this week. Now that they can sit up, we thought we'd try a bath together in the big tub. It's not going to be a regular thing quite yet, as Kaitlyn fell over backwards the first time and fell over forward - face first into the water - the second time. We'll do it probably at least once per week but not make a regular habit out of it until they get better at sitting up. Don't get me wrong, they're great, but every once and a while they still tip over, and the bath tub just isn't the place you want that to happen.

We Have a Tooth

Nicole has a small white tooth breaking through (bottom middle)! It's so hard to see, but if you can actually get her to allow you to look, you can see it. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't accidentally felt it with my finger first.

Maybe more to follow....

Oh, and Kaitlyn continues to threaten with her mobility. She is a huge roly-poly now. Front to back, back to front, left to right, and right to left. And she still does that triangle thing I mentioned before. She's going to do something soon.

A Few Updates on Progress

Kaitlyn and Nicole both sit up independently. Nicole did it on Friday, December 28th, and Kaitlyn did it on January 1st. They were kind of sitting up before then, but not for enough of a time period that I would count it for the baby book.

No teeth yet. If I were a betting woman, I would have bet that we would have had teeth weeks ago. Oh well. Maybe any day???

Kaitlyn is more interested in her tummy than Nicole for sure. So, Kaitlyn may crawl at some point. If Nicole doesn't get more interested in tummy time, I truly don't know that she'll be a crawler. Maybe by watching her sister??? I think that's an advantage for twins. Anyway, this weekend, Kaitlyn pushed herself up into a triangle (straight legs, butt in the air, and on her elbows). I've certainly never watched a child learn to crawl before, but I've got to think that's the beginning signs to a moblile baby. Uh oh!!! Look out world, and look out mommy and daddy for sure.

Holiday Photos and a Photo of Blake

First we have a photo of Minnie and Daisy looking festive in outfits that Joanna (nanny) gave them. So cute.

Here's a photo of Kaitlyn (red) and Nicole (green) playing in their Exersaucers. They've gotten so good at playing in these and absolutely love it. They spin things and grab at them with purpose instead of by accident. It's really neat to see them enjoy these.

Here's a photo a few days before Christmas wearing their "All Mommy Wants for Christmas is a Silent Night" onesies that Joanna gave them. Don't be fooled by the shirts...all of our nights are silent. They're still great sleepers.

Here we are on Christmas Eve getting ready to go to church and then TWO parties!!! Yes, we had a very busy Christmas Eve. We loved it, and it was nice that mommy and daddy still got to do all the traditions that they had in the past. The only difference was that we went to 3pm church instead of 11pm church. Most definitely a good decision on mommy and daddy's part. :-) It was nice to go though. Uncle Brad, cousin Mackenzie, Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa were all there. A true family affair. (Ceylese rested on the sofa, as cousin Blake was only a few days away from arrival.)

And here's Blake.
