Drama Queen

OK, so this morning's post was dismal. Sorry. I cried a few times in the morning...mostly every time someone said, "Welcome Back." I think crying was the natural reaction because their comments only reminded me that I was, in fact, back. I didn't boo hoo or anything, but tears would well up in my eyes. Anyway, my boss is out at a conference Monday and Tuesday which also made my transition a bit easier. I came home for lunch and also left about 1/2 hour early. I'll probably do that again tomorrow. Don't get me wrong, it was really tough, but their heads didn't fall off or anything, so I think the day was an overall success.

How about some pictures?

We went swimming for the first time ever on Sunday. What fun. (They actually didn't react to the water at all...no crying nor any smiles. Oh well. Pretty uneventful. Probably just like a bath.

This is how we watch TV. What cool media chairs. OK, so their high chairs, but they recline to make feeding easier once you begin using a spoon but before they can sit up. And these are some new outfits mommy bought us when she found out a CNN camera crew was coming to film us. Now, we ended up wearing something different, but we love these cute outfits anyway. (I'll have to fill you all in about CNN in another post. I completely forgot to update you on that; however, if you're watching a story about babies on CNN and you think those kids might look familiar, they just might be Kaitlyn and Nicole.)

Worst Day of My Life?

I'm back at work this morning and already missing my girls terribly. I've done a lot of crying over the past few days as I prepared to come back to work. I have a feeling the crying will only continue today and probably this entire week. For those of you who have friends, family, or even a spouse to look after your little ones all day, stop and take a moment today and realize how lucky you are.

On a related note, if anyone knows of someone who's looking for a job (nanny), please let me know. We obviously hired someone, but I'd much rather use someone that one of my friends personally knows.

Poor Girls

Mike has decided to turn the girls into Falcons fans. He was appologizing to them as he put them into their new Falcons onesies...

5 Nights, 2 Infants, Guess How Many Trips...

Well, the girls have done AWESOME!!! I mean AWESOME!!! In the past 5 nights, I think I've made 7 trips total down to the nursery. And here's the strange thing...they've ALL been for Kaitlyn. I haven't had to go down for Nicole once. I think Nicole must have spent all of her nights trying to wriggle out of the swaddle, and now that we've taken her out, she can finally just relax and chill. :-) And Kaitlyn is still doing fantastic. Who would have thought only 7 trips? It was only one trip the first night, and that was at 9:45. I hadn't even gone to bed yet, so that was hardly inconvenient. This is great. Let's hope they keep it up.

Now, on the other hand, naps are suffering. It started one week ago, which was before we eliminated the swaddle, so I don't think that's it. I just think they might be getting to the age where they can be up for a bit longer and nap a little bit less. We're going to try a more relaxed napping schedule starting today and see how it goes.

Go Dawgs! Nice win against a no-name team yesterday. Go Bama!!! They had a nice win. And hopefully today...Go Falcons!!!

Wish Me Luck...I'll Need It

Tonight marks a big event in the twins' lives. We're going to bed un-swaddled!!!!!! Ta-Da! Nicole has managed for the past several nights to wiggle out of her swaddle, and she's actually ended up in some pretty interesting positions. This morning, though, wasn't so interesting but instead scary. She had the swaddle blanket almost near her neck, and she had scooted all the way down her 'incline to sleep' thing and turned a 90 degree angle, meaning she was the whole different direction from where I placed her down last night. So, that was the end of the swaddle. After the bedtime bottle tonight, we put both Kaitlyn and Nicole in a sleep sack. We'll see how it goes. I've heard bad things about these first few nights. I should expect to go down and calm them several times over the next few nights until they get used to it. And I say wish me luck because, who are we kidding, Mike's going to work and I'm still on maternity leave. So, it's only fair that I get the crappy nights sleep. I just hope it's only a few nights. And it will be worth it to do it now so that we don't have to deal with this as two working parents. :-)

Goooooooo DAWGS!!!! Sic 'em, woof, woof, woof

It just worked out that they both happened to have their mouth open, but you couldn't ask for a better picture as a Georgia fan. :-)
These pictures are from last week's game. Their first Georgia game ever...we had to get all dressed up in our Georgia onesies and start practicing how to bark. Go Dawgs!!! Hey, maybe those will be our first words?
